Rhode Island Student Loan Authority - Nursing Rewards Program

The Rhode Island Student Loan Authority (RISLA) aims to address the nursing shortage that Rhode Island is facing by encouraging those who are considering a career in nursing to put their talents to work in Rhode Island.

The RISLA Nursing Reward Program offers Zero interest on qualifying non-federal RISLA Student Loans for 48 months following acceptance into the Nursing Reward Program.

The nursing reward program is available to New nursing graduates working in direct patient care in Rhode Island.

Amount Awarded

Zero interest on qualifying loans for 48 months. While interest forgiveness is in effect, a borrower’s entire payment is applied to principal, reducing the monthly payment amount for 48 months during repayment and lowering the total finance charges the borrower pays over the life of the loan.
